Why License Verification is Crucial for Commercial Web Scripts
When selling digital software or PHP scripts, securing your intellectual property while providing a seamless onboarding experience for legitimate buyers is essential. A robust purchase key verification architecture prevents unauthorized domain deployment, manages updates, and tracks active installations.
How Does It Work?
During the setup or installation wizard of the PHP script, the buyer is prompted to enter their Purchase Key and registered domain name. The client script sends a secure HTTPS POST request to your central license verification server (such as piEcomm's /api/v1/license/verify).
If the key matches an active order in your database and the client's domain is valid, the server returns an authorized token and unlocks the database installation.
